Why are drum lessons so expensive?

It's difficult to learn in a room full of many acoustic drum kits.

Its cumbersome to have more than one person sharing a kit during lessons. 

For this reason, drum kit tuition can seem more expensive compared to other instruments that can be taught to more than one person at a time, to groups, or activities that usually require a group of people (dancing, for example).

In addition, a space that is sound proofed or deadened (expensive), or has tolerant neighbours (unusual and rare) is required…hire of this space and/or the upkeep of such a facility is expensive.

Insurance is also high nowadays.

Therefore:

The cost of a drum lesson, the money you pay,  doesn't all go to the Teacher…Gear, Facilities, and Insurance (not to mention a lifetime of practice) go into calculating the lesson ‘price’!
