15 Beats per bar is a flexible pallet from which to write drum and percussion parts.

Jo (or is it Joe) Morello uses a structure based 15|8 (or 5|4) time signature. …on a sequence of accents spaced by 5 sub divisions (quaver triplets), then 4, then 3, 2, and finishes each bar with a pickup q.triplet back to 1 of next bar. Effectively creating an cyclic ‘acceleration’ illusion.
Makes a great practice exercise using single strokes…accenting the triplets 5 then 4 etc…moving from hand to hand…or foot to foot as the accents cycle…takes two bars to loop fully back.
