Content marketing: 

Create content that is useful and valuable. 

Email outreach: 

Reach out to other site owners, editors, or webmasters and ask them to link to your page. 

Public relations: 

Use public relations to build backlinks. 

Backlinks with anchor texts that include your target keyword can be especially important. 

Anchor text is the text part of a link that the audience reads.
